and I are currently in recovery mode from yesterday's Ridgewood Market. But we almost didn't make it to the market at all. Here's why:
Because I was recovering from a sprained toe/bunion thing, we asked if my sis' bf could drive us, which he could, cept he doesn't have a car or money to rent a car. So I offered to pay for the car and so we went to reserve a car online. Had to go through several rental car websites to realize that since I do not have a driver's license I cannot pay for the rental (plus I would have to be there in person for the pick up. Such bullarky...) Anyway.... next best thing: I sent him money through paypal and he used his paypal credit card.
Boom... done... or so we thought (This was Thursday btw)
Sunday morning, we find that they don't recognize Paypal as a legit cedit card and refused to give out the rental car (even though they took the money and confirmed the reservation online). So he's going to contact his lawyer and take care of this shit, if not already. So don't ever deal with Budget-Rent-a-Car if you can help it. *SMH*
He was able to contact one of his friends with a car and let him borrow it only for the morning, which was fine. By this time it was far too late to take the subway. Sis already contacted the Market organizers about our situation.
TL;DR: We managed to get in right after the cutoff that vendors were to set up, but organizers gave us the okay to set up late. And so because we're sorta efficient, got the table set up by noon: (click for larger pic)
Two Squash Cafe:
Sales was pretty good, definitely made back the table fee and I made more money than sis this time around. Everyone is optimistic about next Sunday
Lastly, we ended up having to drag our things back through the Subway and while it was snowing, but it worked out okay.
Going to try doing some drawing once I get my head unfuzzied. XD
